					<description>As much as parents would hope that their son or daughter's college decision is based entirely on academics and future career pursuits, the truth is that many quality-of-life considerations have to be made as well.  I completely agree with your advice to spend some time in the residence halls (though not all colleges can permit this due to the housing crunch many face), and eating the cafeteria food.  I wouldn't base a decision entirely on the housing and dining factors, of course, but both are important elements to consider when weighing two colleges against one another.
