Testimonials

"I learned more from Peter in three hours than I did during a full week at the summer institute last year!"

- Counselor, Misawa, JAPAN

"With humor and understanding, Van Buskirk leads students through the college admission process.  He tells you what college admission counselors don't want you to know and breaks down classic stereotypes to help students find the perfect college.  Van Buskirk brings the whole admission process to a less stressful and almost enjoyable level."

-Student, Albany, NY

"Tremendous program... interesting, entertaining and hit all the spots I wanted to hear about.  I loved his compare and contrast style.   His conclusion was honest and he connected with me (and I think all in the room based on the response).  I love what you do... same advice I give my children"

"The Admission Game"®
An Interactive Program for Students and Parents (2 hours)

Program Description

Former dean of admission, motivational speaker and author of the newly released, Winning the College Admission Game, Strategies for Students and Parents, Peter Van Buskirk uses unique program elements to engage audiences and unveil the mysteries that are often associated with the college-going process.  By taking them inside the decision-making process as members of an admission committee at a fictitious college, he reaches beyond the hyperbole to empower audiences with an intimate knowledge about the process that fosters educated consumerism.

In “The Admission Game,” students and parents are engaged in an interactive yet reflective exercise that gives them a contextual appreciation for the process that enables them to ask good questions and, then, strategically apply the answers.  They learn what to look for in researching a good college "fit" and how to prepare to compete successfully for admission. Peter’s ability to personalize a complex and often mysterious process makes the experience “real” for both students and their parents. In a recent survey of nearly 2,000 program participants:

  • 95% said "The Admission Game" was among the best college orientation presentations they have ever experienced.
  • 99% said the program gave them tools /ideas to become more competitive applicants.
